How to Prepare for the AHA ACLS Instructor Course
  1. Practice Your Skills: The ACLS Instructor Manual contains a skill check-off sheet to evaluate your students. Study the skills checklist, and practice the skills yourself. You can also observe a friend performing the skills and check off the steps they complete correctly. Rewatch AHA ACLS course videos for additional practice or audit an ACLS course by contacting Arise & RESQ. If you cannot demonstrate these skills at the beginning of the course, you will not be permitted to continue and will need to attend the next session.

  2. Read the Manuals: Thoroughly review both the AHA ACLS for Healthcare Provider Instructor Manual and the AHA ACLS for Healthcare Provider Student Manual.

Post Instructor Training Requirements

After completing the course, instructors must join the AHA ATLAS. This membership is essential for maintaining your instructor status and accessing necessary resources.
